Warren County YMCA Programs Youth Sports:
Co-ed PreK through 2nd Grade Soccer Begins Monday, August 23rd at the YMCA soccer field. Practice from 3:45 to 4:20. Games will begin at 4:30. Off on September 6th, Labor Day. All Games will be held on the YMCA Soccer field.

Co-Ed Youth Soccer (3rd - 5th) Clinic on Tuesday August 24th. Practices will be on Tuesday & Thursday from 3:45 - 5:15 p.m. at the YMCA soccer field. There will be games with other YMCA's home and away. The team will play in the Knox County YMCA Saturday League.

Co-Ed Youth Soccer (6th - 8th Grade) Schedules will be distributed in September. If we have the numbers to do so, we will be splitting into two teams A & AA. The teams will be determined by the coaches. Games are played on a rotating basis at the respective Junior Highs in Galesburg on Saturday mornings and Tuesday & Thursday evenings beginning in September.

Flag Football (Pre-K & Kindergarten) Register your Pre-K & Kindergarten aged child for Flag Football. Flag football runs September through October, with games being played on Saturday mornings from 8:00-9:00 am. Pre-K and Kindergarten league is instructional.

Flag Football (1st-3rd Grade) Register your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grader for Flag Football. Flag football runs September through October, with games being played on Saturday mornings or afternoons.

Flag Football (4th-6th Grade) Register your 4th, 5th or 6th grader for Flag Football. Flag football runs September through October, with games being played on Saturday mornings or afternoons.

Girl's Youth Basketball League (2nd-6th) Attention all girls, the YMCA is now holding league games for all girls 2nd-3rd and 4th-6th grade. The league will focus on fundamentals of basketball while playing games in a fun environment. Don't miss out on the fun! Starts in August and ends in October. YMCA Girl's Basketball: "Where dreams of the WNBA start."

Kuk Sool Won (7-15 year olds) Learn the many different styles & technical skills of Kuk Sool Won. Focuses on martial arts and discipline. Class is taught by Tony Ricco, who has a black belt in Kuk Sool Won. 20 participant maximum per class. Requirement: Black Gee & White belt.
Thursday: 6:30-7:30 pm
Level 1 Baton Level One Baton is for 6 years of age and up. This class is for the beginner. Students must be able to follow directions and stay focused for one hour.
Level 2 & 3 Baton Level Two Baton is for twirlers with knowledge of the basic twirls and dance moves. Class focuses on twirlers to become smooth and graceful. Two batons will be introduced.
Level 4 Baton Level Four Baton twirlers will develop solo routines, more difficult skills and perfect their technique. Competition and showmanship twirling at this level.
Girls Fast-Pitch Softball For ladies in 6th-12th grade. This program is for girls who just want to enjoy the game of softball. Teams are divided 6th-8th and 9th-12th, and they play home and away games. Sign up begins in May and games start in June and end in July. Youth Soccer Local volunteers will lead this instructional and league play program for boys and girls in PreK-8th grade. Leagues are broken up into PreK-2nd, 3rd-5th, 6th-8th. The 6th-8th-grade league will play in the Jr. High League in Galesburg. The 3rd-5th-grade league will have home and away games.
3rd-5th Grade Indoor Soccer Keep your game in good shape all year round with our indoor soccer league. It's fast paced action from end to end. 3rd-5th grade plays Tuesdays from 3:45-5:15 pm.
All Star Performance Cheerleading (1st-6th Grade) Cheerleaders will perform at YMCA sports and community events. Participants are coached by members of the Monmouth College Cheerleading Squad.
Co-Ed Biddy Basketball (Pre-school-1st grade) Biddy Basketball is one of our most popular youth sports programs. This program offers instruction and game time to all boys AND girls in grades preschool-1st. Watch as your child learns the BASICS of basketball in an atmosphere of fun and compassion. The program starts with a clinic for the first 2 weeks (November 7 & 14) and league play begins on the 3rd week (November 21). This program runs November to January. Co-Ed Midget Baseball (ages 6 to 8 years old) This program is designed to help your t-ball player make the jump to the "big leagues." League rules are similar to Lion's League Baseball. Coaches do the pitching and players do the hitting. It's a great transition for our future baseball players. Practices start in April, games start in May. You cannot be nine as of May 1st. Co-Ed T-Ball (3-5 year olds) T-ball is an instructional program with the purpose of developing the basic skills of baseball with an emphasis on fun, fitness, fellowship and sportsmanship. Local volunteers act as coaches and lead this league. Each player receives a hat and t-shirt, which they can have as a keepsake. This league starts in June and ends in July. Co-Ed Youth Basketball League (2nd-3rd Grade) This league is for any boy or girl in grades 2nd-3rd. You don't have to be a "star" to shine in YMCA sports. We do not cut anyone and we make sure each player plays at least half of each game. Come and watch your son or daughter grow at the YMCA. There may be travel involved to play other YMCA teams. This program starts with a 3-week clinic in December. League teams will be formed and games begin in January and end in March. YMCA Youth Basketball, "Where basketball is still just a game".

Dodgeball (K-3rd grade) Play dodgeball and hang out with friends after school on Mondays beginning January 12. YMCA Dodgeball: "Where kids just want to have fun."
Family Dodgeball Fun and exercise for the entire family! This program is held on Monday nights beginning January 5-February 16. Round up the whole family for an action packed time of sportsmanship and family fun. YMCA Dodgeball: "Where kids just want to have fun."
Family Kickball Spend quality time with family playing kickball on Monday nights from 6:30-8:00 pm. Program starts in March and ends in May. Only $10 for YMCA Members and $20 for Program Members.
Flag Football (Pre-K to 6th grade) Learn the fundamentals of flag football, sportsmanship and fun. Practice with a local volunteer as coach and play games on Saturday mornings. Volleyball (Pre-1st Grade) Your student, with the help of the Monmouth College Woman's Volleyball Coach Kari Shimmin and her players, will learn the fun and fundamentals of Volleyball. This 6-week program will teach them passing, setting, hitting and serving. Players will also learn fellowship and good sportsmanship.
